Total RNA is purified RNA from tissue. It contains all the RNA of the cells. This is in contrast to purification containing only mRNA.
Influenza has a segmented genome made up of single-stranded RNA molecules. It has a total of 8 segments of RNA, which are considered as its "chromosomes".
The three types of RNA include; messenger RNA (mRNA), RNA polymerase, and transfer RNA (tRNA).
Messenger RNA (mRNA) Ribosomal RNA ( rRNA ) Transfer RNA ( tRNA )
RNA polymerase is the enzyme responsible for synthesizing RNA strands during transcription in a cell. It reads the DNA template strand and adds complementary RNA nucleotides to form an RNA strand.
The four bases of RNA are adenine (A), uracil (U), cytosine (C), and guanine (G). When considering combinations of these bases, the number of possible sequences depends on the length of the RNA strand. For example, a single RNA nucleotide has 4 possible combinations, while a two-nucleotide sequence has 16 combinations (4 x 4). For an RNA strand of length ( n ), the total combinations would be ( 4^n ).

I have not personally used the Qiagen Total RNA Extraction Kit for RNA extraction.
You want bands. The bands are ribosmal RNA of various sizes. Bands are good this shows that you did a good job of extracting RNA.

There are four different bases found in RNA: adenine (A), guanine (G), cytosine (C), and uracil (U). These bases are the building blocks that make up RNA molecules.
RNA polymerase is an enzyme that makes a RNA copy from an RNA template.
The three types of RNA are: mRNA (messanger RNA), rRNA (ribosomal RNA), and tRNA (transfer RNA).
