is a niche
A niche is an organism's way of life within an ecosystem. This differs from a habitat, which is only the place where an organism lives.
Columbarium niches typically range in cost from a few hundred to several thousand dollars, depending on factors such as location, the materials used, and the specific cemetery or memorial park. On average, prices can vary from around $500 to $3,000. Additional fees may apply for engraving or maintenance. It's advisable to check with local facilities for specific pricing details.

Actually, this is called a columbarium niche. It's where cremated remains, called cremains, are stored. Depending on how much room is in each niche, the cremains can be stored in urns or cardboard containers. Columbarium niches can be located in cemeteries and many churches.

Yes, cremation remains, often referred to as ashes or cremains, can be interred. Interment typically involves placing the remains in a burial plot, niche, or columbarium, where they can be commemorated. Families may choose to inter the ashes to provide a dedicated space for remembrance, similar to traditional burials. However, interment is not mandatory; cremains can also be scattered or kept in an urn at home.

I was told by a contractor, while at the Mandai Crematorium and Columbarium Complex, for an arrangement of a Niche for my beloved father, who had passed away on 6th February 2008. That our humble and former President of Singapore, Mr. Wee Kim Wee, final resting place were also at a block on the left (White Building), while entering the complex. I shall play "Sherlock Holmes", to locate its exact location too, when I am next there. Hope before that, someone out there could provide some better clues. Thank you in advance! Best regards, Ting C. H.
