If I understand your question right you are saying you have air in your brake lines and you need to 'Bleed' them. As you know Brakes are just as important as the engine and the car itself.If you do not do them as prescribed the results can be catastrophic when you really need the brakes. the valve is probably corroded or there is sediment in the line and settled inside the bleeder. Remove the bleeder all the way and see if you get any fluid. be ready to re install the bleeder as you get fluid flowing. If you do not pump the brake pedal with the bleeder out you should be able to replace the valve with a new one quickly then bleed the brakes so get the air out.
If the Cavalier bleeder can not be removed with pliers, try a screw removal tool. The tool has angled threads. Slide it into the broken bleeder then turn it, the threads will grab the bleeder and should back it out for replacement.
