A topographical map.
A topographic map is a general purpose map.
A topographic map measures elevation by showing contour lines that represent changes in elevation on the Earth's surface. These lines connect points of the same elevation, allowing users to visualize the terrain and understand the steepness of slopes.

What will a hill look like on a topographic map? How will a basin look different from a hill?

A contour chart is a map that shows contour lines. A good example of this is a topographic map.

A topographic map is a general purpose map.
A topographic map shows terrain features, which allows hikers and others using a topographic map to verify their position through terrain association. A hiker could, for example, identify two landmarks visible to them on the map, and, with a compass, use the azimuths of those two landmarks from their location to give themselves a location of their own position.
A topographic map has contour lines that show elevations. Once you learn to read a topographic map, you can see mountains, valleys, and other land formations. The closer the lines are together the steeper the terrain is. See Related Links below for an example.
A topographic map shows equal lines of elevation, in set distances which can vary between maps (dependent on the grade of elevation change). elevation, relief, and slope.
The hiker used a topographic map to navigate through the rugged terrain of the mountain. The geologist studied the topographic map to identify different landforms in the area. The urban planner used a topographic map to assess the elevation changes in the city for infrastructure planning. The military strategist relied on the topographic map to plan the troop movements in the region.
