Geographers consider a summit greater than 1000 feet above sea level as mountains in United Kingdom while others consider them as 2000 feet above sea level.. The others with lesser height are considered as small mountains or hills. Mountains have bare rocks at their peaks while hills and small mountains have soil and vegetation. They are formed due to geomorphic phenomena like erosion or faulting of larger land forms.
