Sulfuric acid, H2SO4, is used in car batteries.

Citric acid, or nitric acid, HNO3, is in lemon juice and citrus fruits, and it gives them their 'sour' taste.

Acids can also be used to neutralize bases. For example, if you get a strong drain cleaner on your hand and it starts hurting, put something MILDLY acidic (NOT a strong acid such as battery acid!!!!) over the skin (eg. lemon juice) and the effects of the base should stop.

Whilst bases are used for cleaning, bicarb soda and rust, acids are in formic acid (from ant bites), vinegar, natural acid rain and also hypochlorous acid (HClO, bleach).
