Bassically a Black Hole is created when a certain type of star collapses in on its self because of its own gravity, condencing all of its matter to a point contained within the space of an atom. Some Black Holes have the mass of billions of stars the size of our sun.

Even though they are the size of an atom - actually smaller - and are called a 'singularity' they still have the same mass as that sun, or numerous suns, so still have the same 'spacial effect' because of their gravity on objects as they would have if 'uncollapsed'. Just as the Sun effects the earths rotation, if the sun collapsed to a singularity it would still have the same effect on the earths rotation (not that the sun will collapse to a singularity, or Black Hole - it is too small).

Is a black hole visible?

For most purposes, no, black holes themselves are not visible. Black holes absorb everything near them, including light. Light needs to originate from an object or strike an object and reflect from it and to your eyes in order for you to see it. Light that enters a black hole can never leave. Since black holes do not emit light or any form of electromagnetic radiation, it is impossible for astronomers to observe them directly. However, matter falling into a black hole can become superheated and emit light and x-rays before falling past the point from which nothing can return. We can detect this radiation. Theoretically, you could also see the event horizon of a black hole if you got close enough; it would appear as a completely black sphere against a background of stars. The light from stars behind the black hole would be highly distorted, as can be seen in the image above.

How many astronauts went inside the black hole?

For all scientific reasons, no astronaut had went inside a black hole. It would take many earth years to visit the black hole, so reaching a black hole is impossible.

What does a black hole do with what it suck in?

A black hole absorbs everything it sucks in, including matter and light. Once something crosses the event horizon of a black hole, it is unable to escape and is thought to be crushed into a point of infinite density at the singularity.

Where would a black hole be located on an h-r diagram?

A black hole does not appear on an H-R diagram. An H-R diagram is a scatter plot of stars based on their luminosity and temperature. Black holes are objects with extreme gravitational forces, not visible light output.

If your body is a black hole are you invisible?

Black holes are invisible to the visible light spectrum and many others because their gravity is so strong it pulls in even light. So in theory yes. But a human body is FAR too light to ever form a black hole. However, if you define visibility as human perception of it, while we never see light from a black hole, we would notice the absence of light in an area, so even if it were possible to turn your body into a black hole, no one would see you, but the would see a black gap in space where you should be...

How do scientists know black holes exist if these objects don't emit visible light?

They don't directly emit light, but anything falling into them will emit strong electromagnetic radiation - due to the acceleration of the matter falling into the black hole. Also, the black hole attracts all matter near it.

What is a galaxy with a black hole at its Center?

It is believed that all galaxies have a black hole at their centers.

What happens if a black hole is sucked into a black hole?

Its called a Super Black-hole and scientists believe it is what holds all galaxies together.

Can you make a black hole inside a black hole?

We know nothing about the conditions within a black hole, but it seems unlikely that a black hole could exist within a black hole, or even if this concept would have any meaning at all.

is a black hole a hole or not a hole?

It is a hole because it brings things inside of it, but it's all black so you can't see anything.

Why do they call it a black hole?

A black hole sucks all the mass and energy which passes it, even light. So it's called black hole.

What is the distant galaxy with a black hole in the middle?

ALL larger galaxies have a black hole in their center.

Do all galaxies have a black hole at their center?

Not all galaxies have a black hole at their center. Some galaxies, like our own Milky Way, do have a supermassive black hole at their center, while others do not.

Where does all the stuff from the black hole go?

A black hole isn't a tunnel to somewhere else. It just does to the center of the black hole, and is crushed into a little speck.

How many atoms are there in a black hole?

Basically none. No atom will survive the forces in a black hole. (However, all the mass that falls into the black hole will still be there.)
