Your blood is made of white blood cells, red blood cells, platelets, and plasma.

The white blood cells fight infections and are part of the body's immune system.

Red blood cells carry oxygen. Platelets are bits of broken down dead cells and work with a protein called fibrin, which heals wounds and cuts that the body sustains. Plasma holds the blood cells in suspension and keeps electrolytes balanced.
