A diseased condition of the nervous system of an unknown or unidentifiable cause.
The idiopathic neuropathy is not common, its causes are usually not known.
Ulnar neuritis is inflammation of the ulnar nerve, while ulnar neuropathy refers to damage or dysfunction of the ulnar nerve. Neuritis is usually reversible with treatment, while neuropathy may result in more permanent nerve damage. Symptoms of neuritis may include pain, tingling, and weakness, while neuropathy can cause more severe symptoms like muscle wasting and loss of sensation.
There are a number of types of hereditary neuropathy. Some types are fatal others marginally debilitating. Many do not begin to affect an individual until later in life and others affect children when they are still fairly young. A number of the Muscular Dystrophies fall into this category as does, ALS, Shy-Draegers, Charcot-Marietooth.
Neuritis refers to inflammation of a nerve, causing pain and dysfunction, while neuropathy is a broader term that describes any disease or malfunction of the nerves. Neuropathy can encompass various conditions affecting the peripheral nerves, including neuritis, but also includes other factors like diabetes, injury, or autoimmune diseases.
neuropathyNeuropathy = any diseased condition of the nervous system
The idiopathic neuropathy is not common, its causes are usually not known.
There is no usual evidence that indicates that idiopathic peripheral autonomic neuropathy is fatal.
The four major forms of nerve damage are polyneuropathy, autonomic neuropathy, mononeuropathy, and mononeuritis multiplex. The most common form is peripheral polyneuropathy, which mainly affects the feet and legs. Often the form of neuropathy is further broken down as to cause (see below), or other type, such as small fiber peripheral neuropathy, which is idiopathic. There are other less common forms of neuropathy, for example Enteric Neuropathy.11. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neuropathy
No. Im in constant pain, also swelling, can't walk without a walker.
It's a diagnosis code that is defined as, "Hereditary and idiopathic peripheral neuropathy; unspecified". I'm still trying to find a "lay" definition if anyone has one.
The suffix for idiopathic is "-ic" which means "pertaining to."
Idiopathic means without known cause. The medical term meaning 'without a known cause' is Idiopathic.IdiopathicIdiopathicIdiopathic
It depends on what is causing your neuropathy. There are a number of conditions and toxins that can cause neuropathy. For more information use the following link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neuropathy
I have what is called Peripheral Neuropathy.....but I do fall under the typical causes of Peripheral Neuropathy. What I have is Idiopathic Neuropathy, (In some cases, however, even with extensive evaluation, the cause of a person's Peripheral Neuropathy remains unknown - this is called Idiopathic Neuropathy). I was told by my Neurologist that by the time you feel the symptoms the damage is already done and there is no regeneration of the nerves. So it comes down to either deal with it or take some medication. I finally gave in and l am on Gabapentin, What A Difference! Just remember each and every case is different.
Idiopathic myelofibrosis typically becomes progressively worse and can cause death
