armature reaction means when load is added to the armature then current is passed through armature conductors then in armature creates flux. It is demagnetize and cross magnetize the main field flux. in other ward it is effect of armature field on main field.

What is armature amps?

Armature amps refer to the current flowing through the armature winding of an electric motor or generator. It is used to power the electromagnetic coils that generate the magnetic field needed for the motor or generator to operate efficiently. Monitoring armature amps is crucial for maintaining the proper functioning and performance of the motor or generator.

What do mean by extent of reaction?

Extent of the reaction measures how far a reaction will proceed before establishing equilibrium state .

When a current flows through an electric bell what will happen to the armature?

When a current flows through an electric bell, it creates a magnetic field that causes the armature, attached to a spring, to be attracted towards the electromagnet. This movement causes the armature to strike the bell, producing a ringing sound.

What does biochemical reaction mean?

it refers to a chemical reaction that normally will be performed within a living oranism

Switching of the poles?

This question doesn't really have enough information. I'll assume that you are talking about a DC circuit where switching of the poles would mean to reverse the polarity of the circuit, ie switching of the poles would mean to switch the positive and negative leads of the circuit. This term is also associated with motors. Switching of the poles in motors is what causes the rotation of the armature. The brushes of the motor induce a current into the armature, as the armature rotates the brushes come in contact with other bars on the armature thus "switching of the poles".

What are the effect of armature reaction in DC machine and how the armature reaction is minimise?

Armature reaction is the interaction between the magnetic flux produced by armature current and that of the main magnetic field in an electric motor or generator.

What is mean by armature reaction reactance?

Why the induction motor does not have armature reaction?

Because the armature (or rotor) has no external connection. The currents that produce torque from the rotor are induced by the magnetic field in the machine, so there is no commutator, no brushes and no armature reaction.

What is the difference between armature reaction and armature reactance?

armature reactant means loss in armature associated with inductive properties of the coil, while armature reaction include losses due to magnetizing component of current flowing through armature.

Why pole face are chamfered in dc machine?

in order to reduce armature reaction.

What are compensating winding?

compensating windings are used to overcome armature reaction

What is armature reactions in a synchronous machine?

Armature reaction is the effect of armature flux on the flux generated by the fied windings.Cross magnetisation and Demagnetising are its consequences.

Armature reaction in a DC generator?

ARMATURE REACTION in DC MachineAll current-carrying conductors produce magnetic fields. The magnetic field produced by current in the armature of a dc generator affects the flux pattern and distorts the main field. This distortion causes a shift in the neutral plane, which affects commutation. This change in the neutral plane and the reaction of the magnetic field is called armature reaction.

How you can reduce the effect of armature reaction?

by using capacitor

What is armature reaction in dc motor?

Armature reaction is effect of armature flux on main field flux. Basically there are two windings in a dc motor - Armature winding (on stator) and field winding (on rotor). When we excite the field winding, it produces a flux which links with the armature. This causes an emf and hence a current in the armature. This current in armature produces another flux which lags the main flux. This is referred to as armature reaction. It has two effects on the machine: 1. Demagnetising effect: It reduces the strength of the main flux. 2. Crossmagnetising effect: Its effect is that it bends/distortes the the main flux line along the conductor

How do you reduce armature reaction?

By Using Interpoles (Auxillary Poles).......

What is armature reaction in dc machines?

Armature reaction is the phenomenon in DC machines where the magnetic field produced by the current flowing in the armature windings interacts with the main magnetic field produced by the field windings. This interaction can distort the main magnetic field, causing changes in the machine's performance such as voltage regulation and torque production. Measures such as interpoles or compensating windings are used to counteract the effects of armature reaction in DC machines.
