Slaked lime, also known as calcium hydroxide, is a chemical compound obtained when quicklime (calcium oxide) is mixed with water. It is commonly used in construction, agriculture, and water treatment for its alkaline properties and ability to neutralize acidity.
Quicklime is produced by heating limestone, while slaked lime is formed by adding water to quicklime. This process, called hydration, results in the formation of calcium hydroxide, also known as slaked lime.
Water is added to quicklime the make slaked lime. Calcium hydroxide reacts with water to form calcium hydroxide. CaO + H2O --> Ca(OH)2
A thong by which a dog is led; a leash., The linden tree. See Linden., A fruit allied to the lemon, but much smaller; also, the tree which bears it. There are two kinds; Citrus Medica, var. acida which is intensely sour, and the sweet lime (C. Medica, var. Limetta) which is only slightly sour., Birdlime., Oxide of calcium; the white or gray, caustic substance, usually called quicklime, obtained by calcining limestone or shells, the heat driving off carbon dioxide and leaving lime. It develops great heat when treated with water, forming slacked lime, and is an essential ingredient of cement, plastering, mortar, etc., To smear with a viscous substance, as birdlime., To entangle; to insnare., To treat with lime, or oxide or hydrate of calcium; to manure with lime; as, to lime hides for removing the hair; to lime sails in order to whiten them., To cement.
CaO + H2O -> Ca(OH)2 Here, CaO is Quick Lime, and Ca(OH)2 is slaked lime. Technically, you get slaked lime after this reaction. Also, it's exothermic, so you've got a lot of heat coming out, and the water could in fact start boiling, that much heat. Cheers :)

Lime is composed of the bodies of countless tiny animal shells, and is mainly CaCO3. When heated, the carbonate is driven off, leaving the highly reactive 'quick lime'. Which is quite alkaline and should not be handled directly.
Slacked off usually means diminished or lessened. Food items that have been slacked off would be foods that people use or eat less than they used to.

Because they were being paid no matter what, they slacked off
i think the allies went into groups and went stealthly, and/or the Germans slacked
