Mars is not in the asteroid belt. The Asteroid Belt is between Mars and Jupiter.
The second asteroid named after Elicott Douglass is 6052 Icarion.
An asteroid is a small rocky body that orbits the sun, while an asteroid belt is a region in our solar system located between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter where many asteroids are found. The asteroid belt is like a "belt" of smaller objects orbiting the sun, with the largest asteroid being Ceres.

Hideo Itokawa was born in 1912.
Hideo Itokawa died in 1999.
Masaaki Itokawa was born in 1974.
Hyabusa is the name of a Japanese spacecraft that performed a sample-return mission to an asteroid called Itokawa in 2005. The spacecraft collected samples from the asteroid's surface and returned them to Earth for analysis.
No existing spacecraft do this. Virtually all information is transmitted back to Earth. As of 2017, there are only two spacecraft that have performed "sample return" missions:- the Stardust Mission to comet Wild-2 (1999-2005), by NASA- the Hayabusa Mission to asteroid 25143 Itokawa (2003-2010), by the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency.
There have been at least two spacecraft to land on asteroids. The first was NASA's NEAR spacecraft which landed on the asteroid Eros. Later Japan's Hayabusaspacecraft landed on the asteroid Itokawa.

That's right; Ceres is the largest asteroid.

The asteroid missed the Earth's atmosphere by inches. We will begin asteroid mining soon.
If there is an atmosphere, the light will gradually dim as the asteroid approaches the asteroid.
