Canada climate is not really cold all year in the winter the temperature falls below freezing point that was the time when it is very cold. And on the southwest coast it has a relatively mild climate. During the summer month the southern province often experience humid, and temperature that can surpass over 30 degrees Celsius.
It really depends where in Canada you are taking about because Canada is the second largest country in the world. From my experience, having lived in Toronto and Ottawa, Canada is well below freezing during winter. There's a lot of snow during the winter time... however, during the summertime it is equivalent to California weather.... at least that it is how I remembered it to be.
