The boundary of convection
A convection boundary is a zone where material moves due to differences in temperature and density. As warmer material rises and cooler material sinks, it leads to the transfer of heat and mass within the system. This process helps drive the movement of tectonic plates and the circulation of Earth's mantle.
This tends to occur below a constructive / divergent plate boundary so the plates will move away from each other.
Mantle convection currents beneath a continental-continental convergent boundary would likely be disrupted and deflected due to the collision of the continental plates. This collision would create intense compression and thickening of the crust, altering the flow patterns and direction of the mantle convection currents in the affected region.
The process that allows the plates to move is called plate tectonics. It is driven by the movement of molten rock in the Earth's mantle, causing the plates to move either away from each other (divergent boundary), towards each other (convergent boundary), or past each other (transform boundary).
The upper layer of the earth's mantle, below the lithosphere, in which there is relatively low resistance to plastic flow and convection is thought to occur.

A convergent plate boundary is caused by a downward convection current in the mantle. At these boundaries, tectonic plates move towards each other, resulting in subduction zones or collision zones, where one plate is forced beneath the other.

The velocity of the fluid affects convection heat transfer by increasing the heat transfer rate. Higher fluid velocity results in better mixing of the fluid, reducing boundary layer thickness and increasing heat transfer coefficient, which enhances the convection heat transfer process.
