since tillite was mainly transported by glaciers you should first try to determine its composition, in my area the tillite "dwyka tillite" can be found with the diamond gravel. surely you can see that the composition will be different for certain areas and the gravel here are also ferruginious meaning that you are actually looking at a very heavy mass per unit volume.

This is very true. Since tillite if formed from composite of various formulas such as glacier mixed with mud, rock pebbles, sand and others, it would give different density for different places wich makes me believe there is no specific density assingned for tillite as such. That is probably the reason I was not able to extricate anywhere in the internet a number on the density of tillite. If someone finds such thing, he should get good compliments from the wikianswers community.

How do you calculate the relative density of a substance?

To calculate the relative density of a substance, you divide the density of the substance by the density of water. The formula is: Relative Density Density of Substance / Density of Water. The relative density is a measure of how dense a substance is compared to water.

Is density is density extensive?

Density is an intensive property.

What is the Relationship between relative density and density?

the relation between relative density and density is that relative density of a substance is its density itself without its unit.

How are mass and volume related to the sinking and floating of an object?

An object will float - on water for example - if its density is less than the density of water. Density = mass / volume. An object will float - on water for example - if its density is less than the density of water. What is the difference of relative density and density?

Density is a measure of how much mass is contained in a given volume of a substance, while relative density compares the density of a substance to the density of a reference substance (usually water). Relative density is dimensionless and is often used to identify substances or determine their purity based on their comparison to a standard substance.
