As far as we can tell, protons are stable. Experiments designed to look for proton decay have not seen any, indicating that even if they are not actually stable, protons have a half-life of at least 6.6x1033 years. (For comparison, the accepted figure for the current age of the universe is about 1.3x109 years.)

Some theories predict that protons decay with a half-life of about 1036 years, and experimental evidence so far available has not utterly ruled this out.
