The small bowel (Small intestine) is attached to the lower portion of your stomach. This is the longer portion of the stomach that coils back and forth. This is where your food is mostly digested and broken down into small particles. The small bowel is attached to the large bowel (large intestine). The large intestine is much shorter, and shaped like an upside down "U". It goes up the right side of your abdominal cavity, across your trunk, then down the left side of your abdominal cavity. The last portion of your large bowl is known as the rectum. It is 12-15 centimeters long and ends at the anus. The large bowel is responsible for removing most of the water from your digested food, which is compacted into feces (poop) which is then expelled from your body.

If you look at yourself in the mirror, your bowel is located in the space often called "the belly" -you know, below the rib cage, and extending downward towards your behind
