Bonaire lies in the southern Caribbean and is part of the ABC islands -- Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao. These islands lie outside of the Caribbean hurricane belt and are popular because they usually -- but not always -- avoid major storms and hurricanes.

Because Bonaire lies closer to the equator than most Caribbean destinations, it stays quite warm. The average high temperatures stay in the mid to upper 80s Fahrenheit and the average nighttime lows range from the mid to upper 70s.

Bonaire receives little rain throughout the year except for October through November, when it averages about 3-4 inches a month.
