Law of Equilibrium

Think of a chemical reaction as any math equation like 2 + 8 = 10. This is true since there are 10 units on the left as well as the right.

This is exactly like a chemical equation C + O2 --> CO2

On the left side we have 1 carbon atom and two oxygen atoms. On the right side we have 1 carbon atom and 2 oxygen atoms so this is saying that both sides have the same amount of each atom.

If it was unequal it would look like C + O2 --> C2O2

Left side has 1 carbon and two oxygen atoms but the right side has 2 carbon atoms and 2 oxygen atoms. 3 is not equal to 4.

How are these last two chemical reactions alike different?

The question is quite vague, as there are many chemical reactions and none are specified, so the two chemical reactions must be specified before an answer can be given.

How can one tell if a chemical reaction is balanced?

If it is balanced then the mass (amount) of elements on each side of the arrow will be equal.count the number of molecules of each element on each side of the equation. they need to all be equal.An example:H2 + O2 -> H2O2There are two H's on the left hand side and two on the right hand side, so the H's are balanced.The same is for the O's.==> The equation is balancedAnd remember that the arrow is a yield sign in an equation.

What are molecules called that control all chemical reactions in the body?

Enzymes are molecules that control all chemical reactions in the body by catalyzing specific reactions. They act as biological catalysts and regulate the speed and specificity of biochemical reactions.

What are the Importance of stoichiometry in chemical reactions?

stoichiometry is very important in chemical equations because it tells you the relationship between substances in the same chemical equation. If you know the properties and relationship of one substance in the equation, you can calculate the relationships between all the substances in the equation.

How do you calculate the masses of chemical reactants and products in a chemical reaction?

The term used to describe the calculation of the quantities of reactants and products in a chemical reaction is stoichemistry. It is the calculation of quantitative (measurable) relationships of the reactants and products in a balanced chemical reaction.
