The measurement of the area of any flat surface, like a carpet, would be done in square feet if you were in the United States. Square meters would be used in most of the rest of the world.
"Best" is a subjective criterion when it comes to which units of measurement to use. It would vary from country to countryand depend on why you need to know the area. In general, for a small rug, square feet or square inches in the US or square meters might make the most sense in Europe or Asia, but I wouldn't rule out square centimeters. It would be ridiculous to measure the rug in square miles or acres.
For a typical room, find the length and width of the room in feet. Then just multiply the two numbers to get square feet. Example, a 10' by 15' room contains 150 square feet (10 x 15 = 150).
A kilomater is over half a mile, so I think that meters would be better for measuring carpets.
Take the length of the room and the width of the room then multiply them together to get the answer will be the square footage of the room.
Assuming we are measuring the length of the carpet, then metres.
Square meters.
Square feet is used for carpet.
Square metres or square feet
Yards
The metric unit of the meter would be the appropriate measure of the area of classroom. Calculating area involves multiplying the length (in meters) of the classroom's length and width. Area of the classroom would be in square (^2) meters.
The surface area is measured in square units
usually heated square feet. That means actual living area.
Square centimeters
A unit square.
You would use area. I would use the meter2. Okay
Inches
Cubic kilometres.
This depends on what unit you are using to measure in. However, area will always be measure in (unit)^2.
