You can flex skeletal muscles voluntary. These are the muscles you can control and move consciously. Smooth muscles and cardiac muscles, which work involuntarily, cannot be consciously flexed.
The muscles responsible for flexing and extending your lower leg are the quadriceps and hamstrings, while the muscles responsible for flexing and extending your upper arms are the biceps and triceps, respectively. These muscle groups work in opposition to each other to facilitate these movements.
The pair of antagonistic muscles used in kicking a ball are the quadriceps (agonist) and hamstrings (antagonist). The quadriceps contract to extend the knee and straighten the leg to generate power for the kick, while the hamstrings act to flex the knee and control the movement.
The Hamstrings consist of three muscles that have the same action: the Biceps Femoris, Semitendinosus and Semimembranosus. Their actions are to flex the knee joint, adduct the leg, and extend the thigh. The Quadriceps femoris is four muscles of the femur. They are the Rectus femoris, Vastus lateralis, Vastus medialis, and Vastus intermedialis. As a group (the quads) they extend the leg at the knee.
To raise your foot, your leg muscles, particularly the quadriceps, hamstrings, and calf muscles, must contract. The quadriceps lift the leg up at the knee, the hamstrings help with hip extension, and the calf muscles assist with pointing the foot.

The muscles that flex and extend your finger are not as large as those in your leg. As a result, the biochemical processes that cause muscles to flex are limited. Trying to exert leg-force with your hands is a bit like using a moped to haul a boat.
The dorsiflexors include the extensorum longus, the tibialis anterior, and the peroneus.
The muscles used to lift the leg while lying down are primarily the hip flexor muscles, including the iliopsoas and rectus femoris. These muscles work together to flex the hip joint and raise the leg off the ground.
The pectoralis major and deltoid muscles are both abductors, therefore they act synergistically to pull the arms inward toward the mid-line (in this case the chest) of the body.
