That i know of there is no species of animal that starts off as an animal then later on in life turns into a plant.

Well if you want to get technical every animal including humans. There is a law of science that states. " Mater can not be created nor destroyed" therefore the matter on earth now is the same matter that was on earth 10000 years ago. So when we die our matter becomes nutrients in the Earth and plants absorb that nutrients. Therefore we all become plant.
