There was no formal name for the war between Antony and Octavian. It is just known as a civil war to historians. To the Romans at the time, though, it was a war against Cleopatra for corrupting Antony and taking Roman territory. Octavian, making the most of Antony's misconduct in the east, was able to convince the senate to declare war on Cleopatra as the cause of the trouble.

The event that closely followed the murder of Julius Caesar was the period of civil war in Rome between the forces of Mark Antony and Octavian on one side, and those of Caesar's assassins on the other. This conflict eventually led to the defeat of Caesar's assassins and the rise of Octavian as the sole ruler of Rome.
Initially Octavian's enemies were the murderers of his adoptive father Julius Caesar - Cassius, Casca, Brutus etc. When they had been defeated with Marc Antony's help, Octavian, Antony and Lepidus formed a Triumvirate and each took part of the Empire, in the process having their remaining opponents of the anti-Caesar party executed in order to get their property and raise money. When Octavian and Antony fell out, another civil war erupted, ending in Antony's defeat and suicide and leaving Octavian in undisputed control. Octavian called himself Augustus and 'reestablished the Republic', though it was a different one, with the popular assemblies neutered, magistracies distributed by him, and him pulling the strings in the Senate. This brought further opposition from the dyed-in-the-wool republicans in the aristocracy, however with Augustus in charge of the armies, having lifelong personal immunity, and appointing the important provincial governors, there was not enough leverage for them to give effect to their enmity.
Augustus established power through dismissing the senate and maintained power with his influence over the senate and anyone who tried to take away his title. The army was also important in Augustus' formation and maintenance of power just as his laws and policies also helped with his power. Augustus obtained control over the senate through the elimination of any senators he thought unworthy of the role and that he took as a threat. Another aspect was the way that Augustus gained support was through the public, with propaganda in literature, monuments and theaters.
He brought a settlement of the long-running Civil War.
At first allies, then sharing the Empire, it was inevitable that their personal interests would clash and end in an extension of the civil war which had been running off and on for a century. This contest for power could end only in a victory for one.

The war between Antony and Augustus/Octavian ended with the forces of Antony defecting to Octavian. Contrary to popular opinion, the war did not end at Actium, as Antony tried to regroup and raise another army back in Egypt. However his troops, after his conduct at Actium, opted for terms with Octavian. With no troops, Antony had no army; with no army, he could not continue the war.

The Battle of Actium was the definitive clash of two Romans for supreme power. Although the war was nominally against Cleopatra, it was actually a civil war between the forces of Octavian and the forces of Antony.
Yes, but not immediately. Rome was in turmoil after Caesar murder and Antony and the Senate came to a loose compromise which rather rewarded the assassins but kept Caesar's acts in force as law. Then Octavian came on the scene and after a bumpy relationship with Marc Antony, they joined forces in a war of vengeance against Caesar's killers. Eventually, Antony and Octavian had a war for supremacy, which was a civil war in all but name. It was thirteen years after Caesar's death that this last war took place.
Several reasons led up to the war between Octavian and Antony and Cleopatra, but the main reason was power. Both men were in a power struggle for supremacy in Rome. Antony, by openly entering into a political alliance with Cleopatra played right into Octavian's hands. Cleopatra herself, by seducing Antony, set herself up as a tool for Octavian to use in discrediting Antony. The power struggle continued and culminated in Octavian's victory at Actium.
Yes, in fact there were two wars. The first was the Alexandrian War which Caesar won. The second was the war between Antony and Cleopatra and Octavian, which Octavian won.
Octavius' name changed to Octavian after he was adopted by Julius Caesar. Octavian and Mark Antony did not like each other. Octavian thought that Mark Antony was arrogant and an inept administrator. Mark Antony did not like the fact that Caesar had made Octavian his heir. Their conflict went way beyond a heated argument. It escalated into a civil war over who would become the sole ruler of the Roman territories. Octavian was in charge of the western part and Mark Antony was in charge of the eastern part. A propaganda war started between the two men. Eventually Octavian found an excuse to declare war on Mark Antony's ally, Cleopatra VII of Egypt, knowing that Antony would come to her help. This has been called the Final Civil War of the Roman Republic. Octavian won and Cleopatra and Mark Antony committed suicide. Octavian became the sole ruler of Rome, established rule by emperors and was the first Roman emperor with the tile of Augustus.
