Lets see. You live in a small container on a small blue planet circulating a young star which in turn is circulating a giant black sphere capable of sucking light in (hence being called a black hole, a super massive black hole) alongside countless stars and nebulas and dusts. This structure called a galaxy is in turn part of a giant structure called a supercluster in a leviathan place called the universe which may or may not be one of the many universes floating inside a timeless place making up an entire new dimension.... this is just 10% of what astronomy has accomplished.

Now there are the small things like predicting eclipses, meteor showers, and various other phenomenons.
