Most plants need water for survival. If they receive too much water or too little they will shrivel and die. Some plants such as Cacti and succulents can survive with very little water as they have adapted to dry conditions and are able to store water often obtained by absorbing droplets of dew.
If plants are given no water, or not enough water they will start go Brown and go limp. This is known as shrivelling or wilting.
