What would happen if 2012 really happen?

the Olympics is going to happen in 2012, but also there is predicted meteorite, wars, heatwaves, a black hole, stuff like that. I don't think it will all happen they are just predicting stuff, and they predict a lot of things that don't happen.

so basically I think its very unlikely that all the crazy predicted stuff will hapen

Well this is what I think(I am 12 but smarter then most people)

There are many thought about how and when it may happen, but I think that whatever happens is what nature or what god intends to happen. I think it will be a new start to humanity, a better start. I start in which there is no crime or violence or wars it will just be a new beginning for the world. The site that I am looking at for information I think is ligament and is what most scientist around the world believe. Some of the things I will say might happen or might not it is in the hands of nature. First there would be signs from Yellowstone National Park. The sign will be the boiling lake because of the suns radiation hitting the Earths crust causing the boiling of the water. I think that this will be the first sign and it will go from there. The their would be a massive earthquake in New York or Washington at least a 10.1 seismic wave. That's what will happen after the boiling of the Earths crust. Then because of the earthquake there will be tsunamis that will hit most of the greatest nations.

If all of these earthquakes go at the same time due to the pressure from the sun it will create tsunamis that will take the earth, and if that does not finish it then the volcanoes will. I just thought of something if the earthquakes are powerful enough, the plates of the earth will move enough to make the North Pole and South Pole will move causing the magnetic fields to move around. That is all I can come up with for today and I hope you like it.

Those of us who are a little older remember a similar set of predictions for the year 2000. It is most likely that the 2012 predictions will follow the pattern of the Y2K disasters.

Alternative answer: As you may have noticed, 2012 is already happening. As I am writing this it is August 2012. 8 months of 2012 have "happened" and you can decide yourself what that means.

As to the idea that something terrible will occur on 21th of December 2012, just think of something that you find would fit. Maybe Julius Cesar comes back with a flying saucer from Andromeda where he has been hiding away from Brutus because he is still mad at him and searched the whole Solar system for him. Possibly a farmer in Ukraine will win the Lotto. Or maybe I'll phone my mother.

Whatever you think of is a prediction that has nothing to do with Science, it is a thought experiment following the interpretation of some people that think that some earlier people have had crazy knowledge about the future.

With respect to the previous answer: The biggest fears of Y2K were connected to the "millenium bug". I haven't heard of a 21.12.2012 bug yet. Apart from that: It is highly unlikely that mankind will ever experience a magnitude 10.1 Earthquake. If solar radiation hits us with an intensity that makes water boil in Yellowstone, every one will be dead and unable to see whatever further sign. If the Earth's crust would boil there wouldn't be earthquakes anymore and most certainly no tsunamis, right? And how are volcanoes supposed to form on evaporated crust and how should they be able to destroy infrastructure that has boiled away already?
