The previous answer does not answer the question. I live in Wichita KS. I don't know where the absolute best place is as I am looking for the same place. However, north of any city is a good place to start. Most meteor showers in our latitude come from the north, so any time you are looking for one, having city lights in the opposite direction is a good start. I usually go to a dirt road about 3 miles east of camp hawk disc Golf course in Newton KS. It is dark, and no one drives down that road until about 5 am, so plenty of good meteor watchin times.
