believe it or not it actually comes from carbon dioxide. the carbon molecules from the carbon dioxide are fixed in the plant in part of photosynthesis called the Calvin cycle. If you want to see this for yourself there is actually a video online as well asking the same questions to Harvard grads and watching their reactions when they learn the truth.

Where does a plant's mass come from?

A plant's mass primarily comes from carbon dioxide (CO2) absorbed from the atmosphere during photosynthesis. Through this process, plants convert CO2 and water into glucose and oxygen, with the glucose serving as a building block for various organic compounds. Additionally, nutrients and minerals from the soil contribute to the plant's mass, but the majority originates from the carbon captured from the air.

What are the chemical compounds which form part of the plant's dry mass?

Majority are carbon, nitrogen and oxygen.

Where is the vast mojority of the land mass and getation on earth?

The majority of the Earth's land mass is in the Northern Hemisphere, while the majority of vegetation is concentrated near the equator in tropical regions. These areas have a more favorable climate and conditions for plant growth compared to higher latitudes.

Where does majority of a atoms mass come from?

Very nearly all of the mass of an atom is found in the nucleus in the form of Protons and Neutrons. Electrons and "binding energy" contribute a tiny amount of additional mass.

What planet contains the majority of the mass in the solar system?

The majority of the mass in the solar system is contained in the sun, which is a star, not a planet. The Majority of the mass in the solar system outside of the sun is contained in the planet Jupiter.

What man carefully measured the mass of a growing plant and concluded the increase come from water?

Jan Van Helmont

Is most mass in the nucleus?

Yes, the great majority of the mass of an atom is in the nucleus.

What part of the atom contains the majority of mass an atom has?

The nucleus contains the mass.

Where does most of the mass of glucose come from?

Most of the mass of glucose comes from carbon atoms, which are incorporated into the glucose molecule during photosynthesis. Carbon dioxide is taken in from the air during photosynthesis and converted into glucose, providing the majority of its mass.

Where are the heart and majority of organs in a mollusk located?
