Based on all the evidence, it would appear a Rorqual(Fin or Blue Whale) would be in the top-hearted category, the heart of such a beast weighs 500lbs about that of a good sized Truck engine! and probably runs better too, no pollution control devices on these deep-sea pumps. The size figure is from M. Paul Budker, a French oceanographer, more accurately marine biologist, and a pen-pal of my Father, many years ago, Mr. Budker, a Frenchman had actually been on whaling expeditions, not the usual fare for a *Dry as dust* Museum scientist, as he remarked in his letters. While it is true that the Blue Whale has the largest heart of all mammals, as the question referred to "land" mammals, the answer is the giraffe. It requires such a large heart to sustain blood pressure through the long neck and into the brain.
