corona* apex!
You can see the corona better, but it is also visible with the naked eye but ONLY WITH APPROPRIATE PROTECTION!
During the solar eclipse you see the corona and chromosphere of the sun, which are the outermost layers. These layers are very diffuse and their light is normally drowned out by that of the much brighter photosphere. During a total solar eclipse the photosphere is blocked from view, allowing you to see the dimmer layers.
The outermost layer of the sun is the corona. Only visible during eclipses, it is a low density cloud of plasma with higher transparency than the inner layers.
CORONACORONA
During a solar eclipse, the shadow falls on Earth as the Moon blocks the Sun's light from reaching specific areas. This creates a temporary darkening of the sky and can be observed from the regions where the eclipse is visible.
Energy radiated from the surface of the sun visible during a solar eclipse appears in the form of the corona, which is the outer atmosphere of the sun. This is a faint, glowing halo of plasma that extends millions of kilometers into space and is only visible during a total solar eclipse when the moon blocks the brighter light from the sun's surface.
Sometimes, during a total solar eclipse, the corona of sun is visible to our eyes.
The Corona-sphere and the Photosphere
The corona, the suns atmosphere.
The chromosphere can be seen during a total solar eclipse when the moon completely covers the sun, revealing the sun's outer layers. Outside of an eclipse, it is not typically visible due to the brightness of the sun's photosphere overwhelming it.

No single eclipse ... solar or lunar ... is ever visible from every place on earth. No single solar eclipse is ever visible from every place or even half of the earth.
