There are actually 2 planets that are different. Venus rotates counter clockwise. (Sun rises in the West on Venus) Neptune is tilted so far over that it rotates on its side. Instead of a North and South pole, it has an East and West pole.
Venus
All the planets rotate on their axes and it would be a very unusual thing to find a planet that did not rotate.
Relative to the orbital plane, only two major planets appear to rotate (spin) in a clockwise direction,Venus and Uranus.Of these two, only Venus has lost its what is assumed to be its original counter-clockwise rotation. Uranus only appears to rotate clockwise, as observed from above the orbital plane, because its North Pole was somehow knocked over by 98° to technically become its South Pole.
Venus is the obviousexample, butUranus does this too. (Also some moons rotate in unusual directions.)
no
west to east
No.
because it got hit by an astroid
Venus
Some planets rotate faster or than others. Also the planets take different times to orbit the Sun.
All planets in the solar system rotate, but not all in the same direction, Mercury, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune all rotate in one direction, while Venus, Uranus, and the dwarf planet Pluto rotate in the opposite direction.
Approximately 75% of the moons in our solar system orbit in the same direction that their planets rotate. This is known as prograde motion. Moons that orbit in the opposite direction are called retrograde.
As far as we know it is not possible for a planet not to rotate, they all rotate because they have some form of gravity within them that gets them turning, perhaps you are thinking of Venus which turns in the opposite direction to all the other planets in our Solar System.
Not necessarily. Comets can rotate in either direction on their axis, some rotate counterclockwise while others rotate clockwise. The direction of rotation is determined by various factors such as the direction the comet formed or collisions it may have experienced.
Your question is very vague. To "rotate" something, you grab it and turn it in a different direction.
Actually, 3 planets rotate in a retrograde motion, which, by the way, means that they rotate East to West, or in a counterclockwise motion. Most planets rotate in a clockwise direction, or West to East. The three planets that rotate in a retrograde motion are Venus, Uranus and Pluto.venus
Venus is the planet that does not rotate on a top to bottom axis like the other planets in our solar system. It rotates in the opposite direction, from east to west, which is known as retrograde rotation.
