New Jersey and New York.
Connecticut is not considered a Mid-Atlantic state. It is located in the New England region of the United States, to the north of the Mid-Atlantic states such as New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
The three largest port cities in the Mid-Atlantic states are New York City in New York, Philadelphia in Pennsylvania, and Baltimore in Maryland. These cities have historically been important maritime hubs due to their strategic locations and access to waterways like the Atlantic Ocean and major rivers.
The Mid-Atlantic region of the United States typically includes New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. Some definitions may also consider Virginia and West Virginia as part of this region. Known for its diverse geography and cultural heritage, the Mid-Atlantic serves as a significant economic and political hub. Major cities in this region include New York City, Philadelphia, and Baltimore.
The Mid-Atlantic states are generally considered a formal region because they are defined by specific geographic boundaries that include states like New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. This designation is based on shared cultural, historical, and economic characteristics. In contrast, a functional region is defined by a particular function or activity, such as a metropolitan area centered around a major city. Therefore, the Mid-Atlantic states primarily fit the definition of a formal region.
The mid-Atlantic colonies were founded in the early 17th century, with the first permanent English settlement established at Jamestown in 1607. Other major colonies in the region include Pennsylvania (founded in 1681) and New York (founded as New Amsterdam in 1624).
The mid-Atlantic states are Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, and West Virginia. Washington D.C. is also included with the mid-Atlantic states even though it is not actually a state.
I'm not completely sure. But New York is in the Mid Atlantic region, therefore it is one of the Mid Atlantic States. :)

Delaware, , Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Virginia New York New Jersey West Virginia Maryland Oh and they are all still states and they are also still located in the mid portion of the Atlantic coast; so we shouldn't be wondering what their names WERE, but what they ARE.
they are Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, New York, and New Jersey.
they are near the geographic mid-point of the Atlantic seaboard states (New Jersey much less so than Maryland)
They are south of New England.
There are six states in New England and three in the Mid-Atlantic, making a total of nine. So forty-one states are not a part of New England or the Mid-Atlantic.

Connecticut is one of the New England states, and also one of the Northeastern states. The Northeast region consists of two smaller regions, New England and the Mid-Atlantic or Middle-Atlantic states. The six New England states are Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. The Mid-Atlantic states are New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and some people also consider Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington D.C. to be part of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern regions as well.
New Jersey is the most obvious one. Atlantic City, New Jersey, is like a trashier version of Las Vegas. Other Mid-Atlantic states that allow casino gambling are: Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia.
