Clearly, a lot of people believed that Christopher Columbus discover North America but actually way back before Columbus, a viking named Leif Ericsson/Erik the Red, got lost somewhere around the coast of Greenland and soon sailed to shore at the coast of Newfoundland.

BUT!!! The Chinese before anyone discovered it. Zheng He sailed to north america 70 years before columbus and before the vikings.

Most people think that Christopher Columbus was the first to discover America, and those people I like to call "wrong". It was actually native hunters crossing a glacier during the Ice Age across Asia to Alaska following their prey. This happened over 10,000 years ago. It wasn't until 1492 that Christopher Columbus sailed to America trying to find a quick route to India (that's why some people call Native Americans Indians). The only other people over here besides Natives before 1492 were Vikings who raided the Natives.

Christopher Columbus on the 12 of October in 1492 found the new world. The first to see the land was shipper Rodrigo de Triana. The land they found was Santo Domingo. There is also some prove that may suggest that the Vikings found America before Columbus but there is very little known about this.
