bc gas is easily compressed so it would have a more versitile range of measurement at least in our atmoshperic conditions. liquid not so easily compressed so very little pressure via mass w/gravity or heat would cause it to quickly jump between changes.

What is more sensitive liquid in glass thermometer or thermocouple?

Thermocouples are generally more sensitive than liquid-in-glass thermometers. Thermocouples can detect small temperature changes quickly due to their rapid response time and higher accuracy, making them more suitable for precise temperature measurements in various industrial and scientific applications. Liquid-in-glass thermometers, on the other hand, are slower to respond to temperature changes due to the thermal inertia of the liquid inside, making them less sensitive in comparison.

When is a solid thermometer more useful than a liquid one?

A solid thermometer is more useful when measuring high temperatures because it can withstand higher ranges compared to liquid thermometers. Additionally, solid thermometers are less prone to breakage and environmental factors like vibration, making them more suitable for harsh conditions.

A liquid that is more dense than water is?

shampoo is denser than water or mix cornstarch and water and that is denser than water too.

What element is a liquid metal that has more protons than gold but fewer than thallium?

The element you are referring to is mercury (Hg). It has 80 protons, which is more than gold (Au) with 79 protons but fewer than thallium (Tl), which has 81 protons. Mercury is known for being a liquid at room temperature and is often used in thermometers and other scientific applications.

Compare the expansion of mercury with alcohol?

Mercury expands more evenly than alcohol. This is why thermometers that contain mercury are more accurate than those that contain alcohol. However, alcohol freezes at a temperature much lower than mercury, so it is better used in thermometers in extreme cold conditions.

Why gas thermometer is more sensitive then liquid thermometer?

Gas thermometers are more sensitive than liquid thermometers because gases expand and contract more easily in response to changes in temperature. This results in faster and more accurate readings. Liquid thermometers, on the other hand, have slower response times due to the higher density and lower thermal expansion coefficient of liquids.

What is the difference between alcohol thermometers and digital thermometers?

Alcohol thermometers use a liquid such as ethanol to measure temperature based on the expansion of the liquid, while digital thermometers use electronic sensors to detect temperature changes and provide a numerical reading. Digital thermometers tend to be more accurate and easier to read than alcohol thermometers.

Which liquid is used in thermometers along with mercury?

What is the new liquid used in athermometer than mercury?

Which the following should be used to measure the temperature of liquid?

A thermometer should be used to measure the temperature of liquid. Digital thermometers are more accurate and quicker to read than traditional mercury thermometers. Make sure to choose a thermometer that is suitable for measuring liquid temperatures specifically.

What are thermometers filled with besides mercury?

Thermometers can be filled with alcohol, which is a less toxic alternative to mercury. Some modern thermometers use digital sensors to measure temperature, eliminating the need for any liquid filling.

Are electronic thermometers more reliable than a standard thermometer?

Electronic thermometers and standard thermometers are equally accurate. In terms of reliability, the standard thermometer wins. Why? Because it doesn't have any batteries to go dead.
