A neutron has a weight of 1.674927 x 10-24 gram. A proton has a mass of 1.672622 x 10-24 grams. Protons and neutrons can also be said to weigh 1 Atomic Mass unit (amu). An electron is only 1/1836 of the weight of a proton (1 amu) and so its mass is usually ignored in the calculation of atomic mass.
