This is because the Labrador Retriever was originally bred as a dog to assist fishermen by retrieving fishing nets in the sea off the coast of Newfoundland. Even though this breed is now most commonly kept as a companion animal, it still shares the instinct to splash in. The Labrador is even especially adapted to this task, including webbed toes and a double-coat to provide the dog warmth as it swims in the cold waters of Canada.

Larger dog breeds can weigh anywhere from 50 to over 200 pounds, depending on the specific breed. For example, breeds like the Great Dane and Mastiff can reach weights of 150 pounds or more, while large breeds like Labrador Retrievers and German Shepherds typically weigh between 55 to 90 pounds. Factors such as genetics, diet, and overall health also play a significant role in determining a dog's weight.

Labrador Retrievers can be expected to grow to between 22 and 25 inches for males, and 21 and 24 inches for females.

Haha... Well my Labrador is 'closely bred' and she is pretty loopy. But she is an EXTREMELY nice dog, and you can pull her ears, sit on her, annoy her, and she will just be good. She can be pretty excitable, but I don't think that it makes much of a difference if they are inbred.
