The generator may have a problem with fuel delivery, such as a clogged fuel filter or a weak fuel pump. By using starting fluid, you are providing an external ignition source that helps the engine start even if there is an issue with fuel delivery. It is recommended to have a professional inspect and repair the fuel system to ensure proper functioning of the generator.
It could be a number of things. Your pump's operating voltage could be 240 volts and your generator's output is only 120 volts. The generators output voltage can be found on the generator's nameplate. The horse power size of your pump could be too big for your generator. When dealing with motors remember that when a motor starts its inrush could be 300% of the full load amps. To see if this is happening, take the full load amps and multiply it by 3. Then multiply that number by the voltage that the pump runs on. This number will be the starting watts of the pump. If this number is higher than that of your generator and the generator almost comes to a stop when the load is applied, then the generator is too small.
Skunks can be 8 days old before they can spray. Its their only defence against predators
A home generator can be a useful tool in emergencies. When buying a generator, it's important to find a unit that will power all the necessary appliances and utilities in a home. Homes that have an electric pump for well water should have a 5 kilowatt generator for maximum performance. Homes with a municipal water supply will only need a 3 kilowatt generator. A whole-home generator will usually be 10 kilowatts and will require professional installation.
The cable that is used to connect from the generator is based on the size in kW's of the generator and the generator's breaker size rated in amps. It usually is a flexible cab-tire 4 wire cable if the generator is a portable type. If it is a stationary generator is has to be wired with a flexible conduit so as not to transmit vibration from the generator to the conduit system.

Your engine may be running lean, or have a vacum leak
Because the carb is flooding - starting fluid (ether) dries up the piston and lets it fire - too much ether can damage your piston because it can strip it right dry
Does the engine continue to run on it's own after you gave it a squirt of starting fluid? If so, try replacing the ECT (engine coolant temperature) sensor. If the engine runs only on starting fluid but not on it's own I would suspect the fuel pump is bad.
weak spark or plugged fuel lines Did you change the fuel filter?
sure it will. no fuel= no start get a can of starter fluid, spray some into air cleaner try to start engine if engine starts on that , you know you are not getting proper fuel if it starts on starter fluid it will only run a very short time until fluid runs out Only if the fuel pump isn't working.
The fuel is not getting from the tank to the carburetor.
Fuel pump problem
boiler use many type of working fluids like water, Mercury, liquid sodium, etc., but steam generator works only with water as working fluid. hence all steam generator are boilers but all boilers are not steam generators...

I have a 1999 Yahama Blaster ATV. The ATV will only start when i spay starter fluid into the air filter, when i spray the starter fluid into the air filter it will only run for a short time. I have cleaned the carbraoter, and air filter seems to be in good working condition as well, the ATV also seems to have good compression.
the motor will crank (turn over) but wont start, u can remove airfilter and spray LITTLE starting fluid - or little gas If starts - start the process BEGIN WITH FUSES for fuel system DONT be tearing nuttin apart or running on starting fluid long because u will cause internal damage to such camshaft, ring, etc. soo ur spraying only to determine process of elimination
make sure you are getting spark to your spark plugs. check and see if plugs are wet or fouled. buy a can of starting fluid and spray some into breather but not too much short spurts only make sure you have gas in car if gas is too low in tank it may have gone bad starting fluid should help to identify the problem
