Why dont you feel gravity?

a certain small range of frequencies, or reflect those that are generated by

something else. Gravity doesn't do either of these, much like the sound of a

Tenor Saxophone, the pull of a magnet, or the aroma of garlic, none of which

you can see either.

There actually is gravity in some parts of space. But it is too small for you and me to feel. This kind of gravity is called "Micro Gravity". You can find Micro Gravity around anything, like a mass of something, it could be a planet, or a ball of gas (like our sun), etc. The bigger the mass, the stronger the gravity. Jupiter has gravity nearly twice stronger than earth's gravity. In pretty much all of the universe there is gravity. The reason there is not any gravity in empty parts of the universe is because there isn't any mass to attract anything to it.

Actually, there is. But when an object is in "free fall" (there is no Earth surface to keep it from falling, nor does it have other forces acting on it), you don't feel it, because the gravity is exactly compensated by the acceleration of the object.

The atmosphere is not just pushing down on you, in the sense that the pressure is coming from above and squashing you downward. It's pushing on all parts of you with virtually equal force. In fact, as difficult as this might be to believe, you are slightly lighter in the atmosphere on earth than you would be on earth's surface in a total vacuum. You can think of the air/atmosphere as a very thin liquid, and the air has the same affect (although to a lesser degree) as water does when you are in a swimming pool.

On top of that, it's a force that's always there - we have nothing to compare it to.

We can go diving, and notice how the pressure gets smaller when we're out of the water.

But unless you go and climb Mt Everest, or enter a vacuum chamber, you won't have any reference to how it would feel otherwise.

There is gravity in space. Gravity is what keeps the planets orbiting around the Sun, and the moons orbiting around the planets. It also affects stars and galaxies. It just seems like there is no gravity in space because you are in equilibrium between gravity and centripetal reaction force but, if you were somehow able to stop your motion relative to moons, planets, and stars, you would certainly experience gravity.
