Venus' crust has no tectonic movement, indicating that very little (comparatively speaking) heat is moved from inside the core through the mantle to the crust and beyond. Venus has also gone through several "reformations" which added large amounts of energy to it near its beginning. Venus also has a lower mass and thereby a lower core density, resulting in less nuclear activity and less energy released via that mechanism.

Because of these factors, Earth has lost more heat than Venus over the billions of years since their formation.

Which is hotter the sun or the earths crust?

The sun is much hotter than the Earth's crust. The temperature at the Earth's core is estimated to be around 5700 degrees Celsius, whereas the temperature at the surface of the sun is about 5500 degrees Celsius.

Is the the sun hotter than the earths core?

The Earth's core is aboutthe same temperature as thesurface (photosphere) of the Sun. That temperature is around 5,500 Celsius.Bear in mind that there is still some uncertainty in the estimated temperature of the Earth's core.(Recent work suggests the Earth's core may be hotter than previous estimates.)Note that the Sun does not have a uniform temperature. It varies tremendously, from the core out to the "corona".The Sun's core is much hotter than the Earth's core.

How much of earths mass made up by the core?

The core is 33% of the Earths mass

Is the core of the earth hotter than the core of the moon?

The outer core is liquid. Its pressure is low enough and its temperature high enough for it to melt. The inner core is solid. Both its pressure and temperature are higher than the outer core, but the increased pressure overwhelms the increased temperature, keeping the inner core from melting.

Which planet is the hottest Venus or Neptune?

Venus is much closer to the Sun than Neptune and, is the hotter of the two planets.

Why is Jupiter's central core temperature so much hotter than earth's.?

Jupiter's central core is much hotter than earth because the mass compresses more the more mass compress and the more mass a planet has, the hotter it is.

How much hotter does it get on Venus' then on Mercury?

Venus is hotter than Mercury, with an average surface temperature of about 467°C compared to Mercury's average surface temperature of about 167°C. This is due to Venus' thick atmosphere of carbon dioxide, which creates a greenhouse effect that traps heat and raises temperatures to extreme levels.

Is venus warmer or colder than earth?

Venus is much hotter than Earth. Temperatures average about 850 degrees Fahrenheit.

Is the Earth's core hotter than the Earth's crust?

Yes, the Earth's core is much hotter than the Earth's crust. The temperature of the Earth's outer core ranges from 4400 to 6100 degrees Celsius, while the temperature at the Earth's crust varies from around 200 to 400 degrees Celsius.

Do continents drift slowly on earths upper mantle or earths core?

Continents drift on top of the upper mantle. The core is much further down.

Is earth hotter than Venus?

Because Venus is closer to the sun, it is hotter than the Earth. Comparing temperatures of both these planet, you find that Venus' average surface temperature is 462 degrees Celsius and the Earthâ??s is 14 degrees Celsius.
