Biodiversity
  1. Self preservation - The term "biodiversity" obviously includes us. We evolved in an environment of huge diversity, and if we diminish that diversity enough, we won't survive as a species either. Also, there are many life-saving drugs which have been found in plants, particularly in the rainforests. Taxol for ovarian cancer is one of them. When rainforest is cleared (without even being studied), native plants are lost forever- and a potential new drug with it.
  2. Biodiversity and the general health of the planet are one and the same, and we owe it to our children and grandchildren the chance to live a decent life on a habitable planet. We're only just beginning to understand the interconnectedness of nature, and the loss of one species can directly lead to the extinction of many more, and the loss of whole ecosystems. We are in the midst of a mass extinction, caused by us, which started about 10,000 years ago with the invention of agriculture and the use of fire, but it has greatly accelarated in the last few centuries, and the rate of species loss now is greater than it was 65 million years ago, when the dinosaurs disappeared. We have the intelligence to minimise and repair the damage we do to nature , and we have a moral obligation to do it. This is not "our" planet to exploit as we please.
  3. It might sound emotional, but every plant and creature on this earth is unique and beautiful, and to lose any one of them forever through our own actions (mostly avoidable) is a terrible shame. Our grandchildren seeing only photos of them is a sad thing to contemplate.

How does balance of nature biodiversity?

by preserving our nature

Why is biodiversity important and how can we preserve it?

Biodiversity is the variety of life on Earth. Biodiversity include the genetic variety among individuals in a species, the number of species in an ecosystem and the variety of ecosystems in the biosphere. The main factors causing the threat to biodiversity are pollution, habitat destruction, introduced species and overexploitation.

How do you control biodiversity?

To control biodiversity, focus on conservation efforts such as protecting habitats, reducing pollution, and combating climate change. Implementing sustainable land management practices, preserving natural resources, and enforcing regulations to prevent overexploitation of species can help maintain biodiversity. Additionally, education and awareness campaigns can promote the importance of biodiversity conservation.

Why it is difficult to attach a value to the aesthetic qualities of biodiversity?

Attaching a value to the aesthetic qualities of biodiversity is challenging because aesthetic appreciation is highly subjective and varies greatly among individuals and cultures. Furthermore, the intrinsic beauty of natural ecosystems often cannot be quantified in economic terms, making it difficult to assess its worth. Additionally, the aesthetic experience of biodiversity is intertwined with emotional, cultural, and spiritual factors, complicating efforts to assign a single, measurable value. This complexity underscores the importance of recognizing and preserving biodiversity beyond mere economic considerations.

What is the study of effort for the conservation of biodiversity in your area called?

The study of effort for the conservation of biodiversity in your area is very crucial. This will ensure that you have a clear understanding of the importance of each organism in the biodiversity.

How can you raise biodiversity?

By preserving it through several ways. When you preserves, you are raising too.

Describe two arguments for preserving biodiversity?

Biodiversity is important for two main reasons. First, biodiversity allows for exotic plants to grow from which humans can use for medicine. Second, and finally, the flora and the fauna are maintained by allowing biodiversity to flourish.

Are ancient trees worth conserving?

Yes, ancient trees are worth conserving for several reasons. They provide important habitat for a variety of species, help maintain biodiversity, store carbon, and have cultural and historical significance. Protecting ancient trees also helps preserve unique ecosystems that cannot be easily replaced.

Increased efforts to conserve areas such as rain forests are necessary in order to?

protect biodiversity, combat climate change by preserving carbon sinks, and maintain ecosystem services that support human well-being.

What is the significance of jungles in Europe in terms of biodiversity and conservation efforts?

Jungles in Europe play a significant role in biodiversity and conservation efforts. They provide habitat for a diverse range of plant and animal species, many of which are unique and endangered. Conservation efforts in European jungles aim to protect these species and their habitats, promoting biodiversity and preserving the natural balance of ecosystems. By preserving and restoring jungle areas, conservationists can help maintain healthy ecosystems and support the overall well-being of the environment.
