It is not better. It is different. A balanced education will have an approximately equal amount of science and arts classes, but today, it is more common to major in one (the one in which you want to have a career) and minor in the other. If you are beginning your College or University education, you will do yourself a great favour by taking a minor in arts if you major in science, and vice versa. Both often compliment each other. For example, although medical research is scientific, the practice of medicine is still very much an art. A really neat example of how science and art can compliment each other is found in the movie "Ice Princess," starring Michelle Trachtenberg as a physics student who is also an avid skater. She ends up using principles of rotational physics to better understand the spins performed by artistic skaters, and ends up using this knowledge to help competitive skaters improve their performances. Although the situations depicted in the movie are somewhat far-fetched, it is still interesting to see the interplay between the two.

In science is chemistry or physics the more mature discipline?

If by "mature" is meant completely grown or a science having reached its apex, then neither chemistry nor physics have stopped growing. They both are important sciences. Chemistry is the only science which can actually *change* one molecule into another. Physics, these days, deals mostly with sub-atomic particles. We need both chemistry and physics. Chemistry has contributed the most to civilization, but physics has made some significant advances also.

I suggest the Doctor Who site. That's a science fiction series.

Why should discipline be corrective rather than punitive?

Discipline should be corrective rather than punitive because it focuses on teaching and guiding individuals to understand and improve their behavior, rather than just punishing them for their mistakes. Corrective discipline promotes growth, self-reflection, and learning from past actions, while punitive discipline can often lead to resentment, fear, and a cycle of repeated misbehavior.

What does science offer?

Scientist Dennis R. Trumble believes science offers us more than just great technology and more comfortable lives: It teaches us to unshackle ourselves from preconceived notions by following the evidence and encourages us to think more critically.Trumble believes, as many of us do, that to raise a child to be ignorant of science (a la home-schooling Creationist parents) does far more damage than we might think

Is ms better than an ma?

No, one is not better than the other, it's just that they are slightly different in the approach to a field of study. Read the following for a brief overview. The Master's of Arts degree (MA) has a broader scope, with a strong emphasis on the humanities, theoretical and general knowledge in a recognized discipline, interdisciplinary field, or of a professional study. The Master's in Science degree (MS) is more of a focused approach with a science base to include a balance of liberal arts, technological knowledge, math and computer oriented skills, and practical skills needed for a particular discipline within the field.

Is Philosophy a science or is it more than a science?

Philosophy is not considered a science in the traditional sense because it does not rely on empirical methods like observation and experimentation. Instead, it focuses on questions about existence, knowledge, values, reason, mind, and language that are often beyond the scope of scientific inquiry. It can be seen as a distinct and complementary discipline to the sciences.

What is better a BS degree or BA degree?

It's not that one is better than the other, it's just that they are slightly different in approach to a specific field. The differences in brief are indicated below. The Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) has a broader scope, with a strong emphasis on the humanities, theoretical and general knowledge in a recognized discipline, interdisciplinary field, or of a professional study. The Bachelor of Science degree (BS) is more of a focused approach with a science base to include a balance of liberal arts, technological knowledge, math and computer oriented skills, and practical skills needed for a particular discipline within the field.A BA degree is a four-year course focusing on disciplines which include liberal arts, languages, philosophy, social science, humanities, mathematics, literature, music/theater/performing arts, etc. A degree in Arts is not confined to non-technical fields only, even a science-related field can be pursued through a Bachelor in Arts. A BS, on the other hand, can be obtained only for a technical, science-related field. In general, a BS is a lot more intense than a BA. Reason - the number of courses required for a BS degree are usually more than those required for BA. Which is better for you depends on what you want to major in. Neither of them is better than the other, but from an employment perspective, fortunately or unfortunately, a science graduate happens to have more options than an arts graduate. That said, wherever you get your degree from, ensure that the school is accredited and go through student reviews which give you a clearer picture of a college's worth. So think carefully what subjects you like most, and make your pick between a BS and a BA!

Is political science a scientific discipline?

Yes, political science is considered a social science discipline rather than a natural science. It involves the systematic study of political systems, behavior, and processes using a variety of research methods. While political science aims to apply scientific principles to the study of political phenomena, it is considered a soft science due to the complexities and unpredictability of human behavior in political contexts.
