The moon is only visible from Earht because the moon orbits Earth. If the moon had orbited a planet like Venus, then you can see the moon from Venus.

Also, the moon is always orbiting the Earth. The reason why you can't see it in the daylight is because the sun has a brighter light. If there was no sun, you would only see the moon. So when the sun comes around, the moon and the stars will be in the same place, just, invisible.

Why is the eclipse only visible from certain areas?

That's because a solar eclipse is caused when the Moon gets between the Earth and the Sun, blocks the Sun's light when viewed from Earth, and casts a shadow on Earth's surface. The Moon's shadow on Earth's surface is very small, and the moon only aligns with the Sun when viewed from a small area, so a total eclipse only happens for a very small region. If you're outside that shadow, the sky won't go dark, and the Moon won't completely block the Sun's disc, but you will see the Moon cover at least part of it. A lunar eclipse, on the other hand, is visible across the entire night side of Earth.

Why is The moon surface visible to an observer on earth?

Its surface is visible because of how AU's (Astronomical Units) it is away from the Earth.

What moon is it when the moon is aligned with the sun and earth earth is being in the middle the entire side of the moon facing earth is bright and visible?

That's a Full Moon ... 14.77 days after the New Moon. If the moon also happens to be directly in line with Earth's shadow ... not above it or below it ... then you have a lunar eclipse at the time of the Full Moon.

What are some characteristics of a full moon?

At a full moon, 100% of the visible surface of the Moon is illuminated by the Sun. Half of the Moon is always illuminated by the Sun, and half of the Moon is visible from Earth. But they're not usually the same half. At a full moon, they are. This happens when the Sun, Earth and Moon are approximately lined up in the sky. If the alignment is exact, we'll have a lunar eclipse because the Moon will pass through the Earth's shadow, which is the only time that less than half of the Moon is lit up.

Is the back side of the moon visible to earth?
