The sand paper comes in a number of grits (courseness) the lower the number on it the courser the grit and therefore the more deeply it scrapes the suface. In wood finishing we use the sandpapper from the lowest to highest grite to give the woods surface as smooth a finish as possible and so that the finsh materials like. french polish, varnish will give an almost mirror like finsh. On a door we use it to knoch back any small blemishes to the point where we can start appltying a varnish or wax only polish. as we ally each coat we use a very "mild" sandpaper to remove an dust specs that could have landed on the surface of the door as it dried. it also provieds a key so thatthe next coat will"stick". Placing any finish on wood means the next coat will not stisk as evenly as it going on a shiney surface. We "key" the surface and then using a "tack rag" which is slitly sticky we remove any dust then reapply a new finish coat we do the same for painted surfaces as well.

Why do painters use sand papers in polishing doors?

Painters use sandpaper to smooth out rough or uneven surfaces on doors before painting. Sanding helps to remove imperfections, old paint or varnish, and helps the new paint adhere better to the surface. Sandpaper also provides a key for the new coat of paint to bond to, resulting in a smoother finish.

If a county paint shop has enough paint to last 42 painters 96 days how many days will the paint last 18 painters?

To find out how many days the paint will last for 18 painters, we can use the concept of painter-days, which is the product of the number of painters and the number of days. For 42 painters lasting 96 days, the total painter-days is 42 painters × 96 days = 4032 painter-days. Dividing that by 18 painters gives us 4032 painter-days ÷ 18 painters = 224 days. Thus, the paint will last 18 painters for 224 days.
