Thirteen isn't all that old so I wouldn't worry just yet. Before your breasts grow in, sometimes as much as a year before they will be very tender. This is a sign that your milk ducts are maturing and after this process is underway you will begin adding a layer of fatty tissue over the milk producing tissue. You can expect that you breasts will continue to grow until you are between 16-20. Late starters usually finish later also. The best indication of what size you will be is to look at your mother, her mother and sisters and your father's sister and mother. On a side note, there is a small chance that you have a hormonal problem which can be caused by an number of things. If you have had your first period but have not noticed any breast tenderness or changes you may want to talk to a doctor just to be certain. Breasts are mostly made of fat so if you are in poor health or are not eating enough your body won't waste it's reserves building fat in your breasts. But, when you recover or start eating normally growth will begin. I hope this helps some. Don't worry too much about what develops when, it will all even out before you leave high school. :) We're all a product of genetics. If your mother or your fathers mother were small breasted, you have a good chance of having the same physical characteristics. If your mother and grandmother had medium or larger breasts you'll probably inherit that as well. Some young women just take a little longer to develop, so look at your mother and try to figure out what size you'll be then maybe ask your mother how old she was when she developed. Whatever happens, recognize that you're more than your body shape. The only thing that separates humans from animals is our ability to understand, our intelligence distinguishes us. Rather than focus on what your breasts look like, read and do well in school. There are some young men who are really attracted to smart women. These are usually smart young men and are typically the ones who do well later in life. Maybe some day you'll want to marry. Would you rather have a husband who wants a smart wife or one who wants a wife with large breasts?
