We have a first Edition, complete with Baseball Cards inside in our antique shop in a little town called Lanark, Ontario. My husband did a lot of research before we put it in the shop.
Prices ranged from two to five hundred dollars, the latter being an absolutely perfect specimen. We priced ours at three hundred.
Your pricing is about right. The only exception is the certified issue of the original 8/16/54 that was released back around 2003-2004 that was numbered in padded binding. The issues that they released then came from their vault and ranged from 9.5 - 9.8 in grade. Baseball Trade Shows had those issues going for $2500 - $3500 depending upon how low the Certified # was.
