Which rifle??? Which model, so, you left too many variables to answer directly, however if you allow me to get on my soap=box,
I can are refer to a magazine for the notorious Remington 597 in .17 cal,,,,, the answer is "they are junk"!!! The components are cheap, crudely made, ineffective, poorly engineered and otherwise "junk". They have been assembled by monkeys (they could not find a football).
Thank you, now that that is out of my system, most magazines function properly unless they are bent or damaged. Notice i said "most".. try another magazine or two to determine if it is the fault of the magazine or the rifle.
Try disassembling the magazine and polishing the edges of the parts so they slide better.... seems like you could spend a long time attempting a cure before you throw it away and simply buy another magazine.
The magazine body is a component, and is one piece. The components of the complete magazine would be the magazine body, the floor plate, the spring, and the follower. US Navy Answer: Locking block plunger, Magazine spring, magazine tube, follower, floor plate.
To disassemble a Remington 760 magazine, first ensure the magazine is empty and safe to handle. Use a small punch or a similar tool to push out the retaining pin located on the back of the magazine. Once the pin is removed, separate the magazine body from the base plate, and carefully take out the spring and follower. Remember to keep all parts organized for reassembly.

In order to comply with migratory bird laws, Remington has installed a plug in your magazine. To remove it, simply unscrew the magazine cap, and I've seen two types of spring catches on Remingtons, so if it's a plastic one with a slot in it, press it in and rotate a quarter turn. If it's a C-Shaped metal ring, pull one end out with a screwdriver. Careful, as this will also release spring pressure. Tilt the shotgun forward, and the plug and your follower should drop out. Put the follower back in with the spring behind it, put back in the spring catch, and put the magazine cap back on the magazine. You should have a full capacity magazine tube now.
To remove the magazine tube on the Stevens 87D, first ensure the firearm is unloaded. Then, unscrew the end cap at the front of the magazine tube. Slide off the end cap and follower, then push the magazine spring and follower out through the rear of the tube. Finally, slide the magazine tube out of the receiver.
No.
The answer lies in adjusting the primary & secondary shell stops.
To relace the magazine spring in a Mossberg 500, first ensure the shotgun is unloaded and safe. Remove the forend and barrel by unscrewing the magazine cap. Then, take out the magazine tube's spring and follower. To reassemble, insert the new spring and follower into the magazine tube, ensuring the spring is properly seated, then reattach the barrel and forend.
Could be ammunition, magazine, dirty, etc..
Remington makes multiple rifles with detachable clips. The 742 and 760 both have detachable magazines. The Remington model 700 can be readily altered to a detachable magazine, parts are sold in Cabela's, and other suppliers.
