Apart from removing the head, limbs and filling you cant with good results, using liquids leaves tide marks on the body i know i,ve tried the only other solution is to use dry shampoo applied and rubbed in gently with a soft brush an old toothbrush is good for this leave the shampoo on for a couple of hours then with a dry clean brush rub it off this works quite well, if the body is really dirty you may have to do this a couple of times

How do you dry an American girl doll?

When your doll is wet, dry off all plastic parts of the dolls with a dry cloth. Let it dry in the sun for about five minutes, to prevent molding. After that, dab the cloth part of the body gently with a dry cloth. Flip the doll over and do the same. Let the doll dry in the sun for another five minutes. If the doll has long hair, ring it out. If the doll has short or long hair, dab and squeeze out the water. Let the doll dry on a heater over night, or for a long period of time. When on the heater, do not let the dolls hair dry, it will get messed up and stuck together. Hope this helps!
