A person can lie down on a bed of nails as the bed is large and the force is distributed evenly on the bed. Thus, making a much smaller pressure.
In theory, a person could lie on a bed of nails indefinitely - the force of the body is distributed over the entire bed so there is no risk of injury from the nails. The limiting factors would be biological necessity (need to go to the bathroom, need for food/water, etc.) and the development of bed sores over several days.
because they are strong! You don't have to be strong to lie on a bed of nails. The trick is a combination of pain control and physics. The pain control comes from the ability to ignore mild pain and the physics comes from the distance that the nails are spaced which evenly distributes the pressure of the weight put on them over a wide area which prevents the skin from being punctured. a bed of nails has lots of points that are close together -- there's a lot of surface area for the body to cover. Hundreds of nails support the weight of your body instead of just one. The resulting force is distributed over all of the nails, so you shouldn't be injured.
When lying on a bed of nails, the person's weight is distributed across multiple nails, reducing pressure on any single point. The nails are also blunt and closely spaced, so they disperse the force exerted by the body. This allows the person to distribute their weight evenly across the nails, minimizing the risk of injury.
i think its a bed of nails
No one is recorded in the Bible as sleeping on a bed of nails.
that would be a bed of nails
I would say that lying on a bed of nails would be less painful, as your weight would be more evenly distributed over a larger surface area.

i will give u an example. if someone was really mean and then nobody was friends with that person and they got upset then you would say to them "you've made your bed so you must lie on it.
They are too closely spaced.
