You either have a reproduction "coin" sold for its bullion content, or a genuine 1926 silver dollar. At that time the U.S. minted silver dollars for use in commerce. Bullion pieces sold for their silver content weren't issued until the 1980s. Standard silver dollars from that time period will have an eagle with folded wings and the word PEACE on the back.
Please determine which you have and post a new question with more information.
Your coin is a standard US silver dollar minted for spending. There's more information at the question "What is the value of a 1924 US silver dollar?".
An "eagle dollar" is a 1-oz bullion coin minted since 1986 for sale to collectors. Your coin is called a Peace dollar, and it's not an ounce and it's not pure silver. It contains about 0.77 troy ounces of silver metal alloyed with 10% copper, because its value had to be exactly $1 and pure (really 99.9%) silver is way too soft for a circulating coin.
A 1921 US silver dollar, like all silver dollars minted up till 1935, contains about 0.77 troy ounces of silver and is VERY different from the 1-oz silver "eagle" pieces minted since 1986.
Silver dollars contained what was then $1 worth of silver metal. They were struck for use in ordinary commerce and circulated regularly in some parts of the country.
Modern silver "eagles" do contain 1 troy oz. of silver but they're made for sale to collectors and investors, not for spending. The $1 denomination is totally artificial. At mid-2011 prices the coins contain over $35 worth of silver so spending them as a dollar would be extremely foolish.

Such a coin does not exist for a couple of reasons:
1) In 1900, all US silver coins were struck in 90% silver.
2) All US dollar coins were struck in 90% silver
3) Coins denominated in troy ounces did not really exist until the 1960s
What you've got is either a very poor fake or a fantasy piece
As such the coin could very well not contain any silver at all! Although, it might have 1 troy ounce of silver.
If it has no silver, it is worthless. If it contains an ounce of silver, it is worth about $30.

It's worth $15.88 for the silver.
A. The coin you are referring to is a PEACE dollar. This coin is 90% silver and worth its silver value, unless graded by a third party or in mint state. a standard fine condition coin is not worth anything over spot price of silver.
A 1999 1oz silver dollar may be worth up to $50. The value is based on the value of silver at the time of sale. The price of silver changes nearly by the minute.
Depending on the mint and condition and type, the silver dollar can be worth anywhere from $27.00 it $64,00. It is a good idea to have it appraised to see what it is actually worth.
