ville

To improve:

la ville = the town

une ville = a town

you always in french need and article (the, a) in front a noun.

e.g. i will have a bit of cake (english) would be i will have a bit of the cake (french). even though that still make sense in english, i will have a bit of cake doesn't make sense in french.

hope this helped
